Ingredients You’ll Need

Here is the list of ingredients that you will need to make this taco recipe. I also share some tips so that you can have success recreating this recipe in your own kitchen.

  • Ground Beef – I prefer using a lean ground beef (96/4) in most of my recipes. You will end up draining the extra grease anyways, so you can really use whatever you prefer.
  • Corn – A can of corn is all you need. Use yellow corn, white corn, or a mix of yellow & white corn.
  • Baked Beans – Use the original flavor baked beans and not the flavored ones. You do not need to drain these, just dump everything inside the can into the skillet pan.
  • BBQ Sauce – I use the brand Kinder’s or Sweet Baby Ray’s. I recommend using the original bbq sauce because the sweeter flavors might over power these tacos.
  • Ketchup & Yellow Mustard
  • Cumin, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Chili Powder

Tips For Success

Here are a few helpful tips so that you can have success with this recipe for your own family.

  • Simmer : It’s important to not rush the 15 minute simmer time. During this time, it will thicken and the flavors will develop and mix together perfectly.
  • Baked Beans & BBQ Sauce : It’s best to use original of these items and not the flavored ones (like brown sugar, maple, etc.) I highly recommend using original bbq sauce and the original baked beans.
  • Tacos : While the meat is simmering prepare all your favorite taco toppings. We like to keep it simple with just shredded cheese, pico de gallo, and sour cream. You could also make some salsa verde guacamole or try this cilantro lime salsa verde dressing to drizzle over the top of the tacos.
  • Corn : Make sure the corn is drained well before adding it into the skillet pan. Feel free to use any canned corn you want; fiesta corn, southwestern corn, yellow corn, white corn, or gold n white corn mix.
