Plan a baby shower with this list of 10 baby shower games that use baby bottles! Bottles are essential for any new mom. What better way to have fun at a baby shower and leave the mom-to-be with some great baby bottles and other fun gifts for her new arrival!
I am really excited about today’s post. I know I normally stick with food around here but once in a while, especially for fun Holidays, I like to post lists of activities, games, and family traditions that you can start or create with your own families. Having had 3 babies, plus currently pregnant with our fourth baby, lots of cousins and friends, and a sister who has also had babies, you better bet that I have been to my fair share of baby showers. I love them! There is nothing more exciting than celebrating the arrival of a new baby.
I know all mom’s have their own feeding story, but my story with all my kids is that I have chosen to bottle feed. After having 3 babies I can honestly tell you that I have tried just about every single baby bottle that was ever made. Babies can be so picky with what kind of bottle they like. Is it the right angle? Too much air inside the bottle? Does it make them gassy? Bottle nipple is not right? I remember many sleepless nights after coming home from the hospital because my baby would not drink from a certain bottle because of too many air bubbles. Let’s just say that my husband has gone to the store plenty of times to get a different bottle to see if that one would finally work.
That’s why I have always loved using Playtex Baby™ VentAire® baby bottles. I can honestly tell you that each one of my kids have always ended up liking the Playtex Baby VentAire bottles or the Playtex Baby™ Nurser® with Drop-Ins® Liners.
- Unique Anti-Colic Bottom Vent. Fewer air bubbles means a happier tummy for baby! The tiny anti-colic bottom vents keep air at the back of the bottle. As baby feeds, virtually no air mixes with the milk and gets into baby’s tummy.
- Angled Design Helps Prevent Ear Infections. Angled baby bottle design promotes the semi-upright feeding position, recommended by pediatricians to help prevent ear infections.
- Easy Switching Between Breast and Bottle Feeding. The Most Like Mom® NaturaLatch® Nipple mimics the breast to help baby latch on naturally and promotes easy switching between breast and bottle-feeding.
I put together a list of my favorite baby shower games for you today. Most of these ideas are games, with some gift ideas also, that utilize baby bottles. How amazing would it be to have tons of fun at the baby shower and then leave the mom-to-be with some amazing baby gifts as well? That’s always my favorite part about a baby shower is seeing all the fun stuff that the mom gets. Either from gifts or the items used for the games. All these games use practical baby items that the new mom will be thrilled to have once her little one comes. Because we all know that the better stocked a mom is, the better beginning that she can have with her new baby. Being a mom, especially a first-time mom is easily one of the toughest things I have experienced. Anything that friends and family can do to help a new mom start out her journey is certainly needed and appreciated.

Baby Bottle Bowling
What you need: 10 baby bottles, a small ball to use as the bowling ball
How to Play: Just like a regular game of bowling but try to knock down all the bottles!
Guess the Baby Food
What you need: Baby food (however many jars you want & whatever fruit/vegetable variety you want), small baby spoons
How to play: This is a fun game to play while you are waiting for everyone to arrive or while everyone is socializing. Set out the opened baby food jars with a spoon by each one. Or, if you want to be totally germ-free and hygienic, set out a bucket of plastic spoons by each one. Have each guest try the baby food and write down their guess on a card below that baby food jar. You could have small prizes for the winner of each baby food or just to do it for fun. It’s not often that adults get to use baby spoons to eat baby food 🙂 This one is always entertaining.
Pass the Pacifier
What you need: A straw for each person and a pacifier (or 2 -3 pacifiers depending on how many groups you have)
How to play: Give each person a straw. Depending on the size of your group, have the group sit in a big circle, or divide the group into 2-3 smaller circle. The object of the game is to pass the pacifier from person to person by only using the straw that each person has. You can compete among the groups and see who can do it the fastest or just do it for fun. You’re guaranteed to get laughs from this game!
Guess How Many in the Baby Bottle?
What you need: Baby bottles that are full of small candies, a guessing card for each bottle so each person can write their guess down.
How to play: This is another great game to play while you’re waiting for everyone to arrive. Pre-fill the baby bottles with small candies, and make sure you count them as you fill them because you will have to know the final number. Each guest guesses at the number of candy in each bottle and writes down their guess. I love this game because the mom-to-be gets the bottles (yay!) and the winner of each bottle can keep the candy that’s inside.
Price is Right
What you need: 6-8 baby essential baby items, and a ‘price is right’ sheet for each guest to fill out with each baby essential item listed and the correct prices listed. Not in order because the guest will have to guess the price of each item and then match up the baby item with the price on their sheet.
Ideas for baby essential items: pack of baby bottles, diapers, baby butt ointment cream, clothing set, rattle, binkie/pacifier pack, package of bibs, infant/toddler sippy cups, a diaper pail, bath soap & lotion, etc.
How to play: Each guest will have to match up the baby item with what they think is the correct price. Whoever gets the most correct matches, wins! This is a favorite game because the mom-to-be walks away with a lot of baby essentials for her nursery.
Drink Up, Baby!
What you need: Bottles filled with juice, kool-aid, or some other juice/punch. Carbonated beverages do not work well for this.
How to play: The person who can drink their bottle the fastest, wins! So simple but oh so entertaining. This is not as easy as it sounds 🙂
‘Get the Baby Ready’ Relay Race
What you need: 2 doll babies, 2 baby doll outfits, 2 newborn sized diapers
How to Play: Divide the guests into two teams. Have the teams stand behind the starting line. On a table across the room place the baby doll that already has the diaper and outfit on. The teams then race to the table (one player at a time) and they have to undress/change the diaper and then put the diaper and outfit back on. Once the player is done, he/she races back and tags the next person in line and that player does the same thing. Whichever team finishes first, wins! If you want to make this extra challenging try blindfolding each person and have them to the relay race blindfolded.
Stuffed Baby Bottle Gift Basket
What you need: a basket, bottles (however many you want), varying small baby essentials that can fit inside the bottles. Newborn sized diapers, size 1 diapers will fit, pacifiers, rolled up baby onesies, receiving blankets to place with the bottles, rolled up baby bibs, etc.
Put the baby items inside the bottles and tie with ribbon if wanted. Place the stuffed baby bottles inside the basket along with maybe some blankets to fill in the space. This makes a great gift because not only does the mom-to-be get to keep the bottles but she also gets all the fun stuff inside them too.
Diaper Raffle Game
What you need: On the baby shower invite tell the guest to bring a pack of diapers (telling them what size to bring will ensure that you don’t end up with all newborn sized diapers) and that will be their entry fee for a raffle prize at the baby shower.
How to play: Guests bring their diapers and get entered into a raffle prize drawing. The host picks the raffle prize. It could be a small gift card to a restaurant or a store, or it could be a prize pack that is put together. At the end of the baby shower draw a ticket or name out of the bucket and that person wins! I love this one because the mom-to-be ends up with lots of diapers (which, trust me, is every new mom’s dream!)
‘The Essentials’ Baby Bathtub Gift Set
What you need: baby bathtub, varying gifts of baby essentials (package of bottles, bibs, pacifiers, baby food, lotion & soap, towels, clothes, shoes, socks, diapers, wet wipes, etc.)
Load up all your baby items into the bathtub and wrap a big bow around everything. This is a much needed gift for any new mom because it contains all the essentials and things that she will actually use!
