A fun twist on nachos! Only 3 simple ingredients and you’ll have yourself some really delicious game day food. Of course, nachos would not be complete without something to dip them in. Sour cream & mashed avocado will take these totchos over the top!
Tater tots + Nachos = Totchos
If you know anything about me, you know that I LOVE football. I grew up watching football games, and going to lots of games, with my dad & brothers and of course we always had some kind of game day snack to munch on. Just as we think of Christmas and Thanksgiving as Holidays, I happen to think of the Big Game and game days as Holidays too 🙂 All the food you can eat, the family & friends that gather. It’s one of my favorite times.
I’m so excited to be working with ConAgra canned foods today. I love their newest campaign for game day food.
canned foods + fresh ingredients + quick tips = Yes! You Can
This means that anyone can make these fun, quick, and easy game day food recipes. By combining high quality, delicious canned goods with fresh produce and some quick tips for in the kitchen, anyone can have a fun and memorable game day party with delicious food that doesn’t take forever to make! I don’t know about you, but I would much rather be out cheering on my team and eating these cheesy chili totchos than in the kitchen slaving away and cleaning up a big huge mess!
You will only need 3 ingredients to start this recipe. A bag of frozen tater tots, a can of WOLF Brand Chili, and some shredded cheddar cheese. I chose to go with the chili with beans, but feel free to get the chili without beans. If you want a spicy kick to your totchos use shredded pepperjack cheese.
You’ll cook your tater tots according to package instructions. Be sure and line your cookie sheet with parchment paper or tin foil sprayed with cooking spray. Layer the frozen tots in a single layer (super important!). If they are not in a single layer, they will not crisp up all nice and golden brown.
When the tater tots are done put them inside a 9×13 baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Layer the Wolf Brand Chili on top and then sprinkle the shredded cheese over the chili. Pop it back in the oven and 8-10 minutes you will pull out some delicious & cheesy chili totchos that are just begging to be eaten!
Garnish with some green onions and then prepare your bowls of sour cream and mashed avocado for dipping.
I just love all this fresh produce. The vibrant greens and juicy limes!
Here are two quick tips that will help you in the kitchen so you can spend more time enjoying the game & food.
TIP #1- Take your lime and place it underneath your palm. The lime will be in the middle of the palm of your hand and the countertop. Push down on the lime and roll around in a small circle. This releases all the juices inside the lime making it so much easier to squeeze the lime juice out! I do this every time I use a lime when I am cooking. Works like a charm.
TIP #2 -No one wants too many dirty dishes when they are preparing food for entertaining. Instead of dragging out a big cutting board and knife, try using kitchen scissors to cut the green onions. You can cut them right over top of the totchos. Easy and mess free! You can’t beat that.
You can find WOLF Brand Chili at Wal-Mart along with great produce that will make this dish stand out. Plus, while you’re there, grab some of those football-shaped paper plates to serve these totchos on. I found mine over by the holiday section which is usually by the front of the store.
I hope you include these cheesy chili totchos in your own game day menu. You can’t get much easier or more delicious!
