The Top 12 Recipes on Together as Family. The most viewed recipes from the entire year from easy dinner recipes, a muffin recipe, soup recipes, a cream pie recipe, and the very favorite was roasted brussels sprouts.
TOP 12 RECIPES OF 2019
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s. I am so excited today to share one of my all-time favorite posts. It’s the annual top recipes from the year.
These top 12 recipes from the past year have, collectively, been viewed over 8 million times. You guys, that is mind blowing to me. Like just 4 1/2 years ago I had 3 views per day to my blog. My mom and sister, and mabye my husband, haha 🙂
I seriously still pinch myself when I think about the “numbers”. This blog still is, and always has been, my sanity saver. If you’ve read the about me page then you might know that I dealt with some hard and very rough years with postpartum depression and anxiety.
We were living on the other side of the country from family, we were young (fresh out of college), I felt so alone, I was a mom to two young kids (we now have 4) and I knew I needed something to focus on. Something to get me through each day of my husband working for 12+ hours and a 2 hour commute each way on top of that!
That is how Together as Family was born. It quite literally saved my life. And no matter what the number of views are, I will forever be grateful for each and every person that takes time to visit my site. I wish we could all be friends in real life and that I could know each of you ♥
This blog is my 5th child and if we’re being honest it’s my favorite 🙂 It does not talk back to me or whines at me all day. Kidding aside, every recipe I share or every time I spend hours replying to comments that are left, or hours writing and preparing one recipe post for you all, I am reminded of just how far I’ve come and I am reminded of what I have overcome in life.
And for that I will always and truly be so grateful for this food blog and even more grateful for everyone and anyone that takes a few minutes from their own life to visit this space of mine on the internet.

Which ones have you made? Let me know in the comments if you have a favorite from this list.
Oven Roasted Parmesan Brussels Sprouts – I can and usually do make a meal out of these. Even my kids love these! I always cook them for the maximum time listed in the recipe for that perfectly charred exterior. So yummy when they are roasted and crunchy on the outside.
Fiesta Chicken Casserole – A super easy and simple dinner recipe. I even make it ahead in the afternoon and then refrigerate it until it’s time to cook it for dinner. Use up leftover chicken or buy a rotisserie chicken at the store.
7 Can Chicken Taco Soup – Don’t let the canned chicken scare you! I promise it’s actually really good and there is a reason it has made it into the top recipes each year since I posted it back in 2015. It literally takes 1 minute to prepare and about 10 minutes to cook on the stove top. You can’t beat an 11 minute meal people 🙂
Cinnamon Banana Bread Muffins – These are just absolutely perfect muffins and the only way you should be using up your browned bananas. Just trust me and run and go make these muffins.
Pasta Fagioli Soup – This soup is packed with flavor and it starts with a somewhat surprising ingredient. I’ve had lots of readers tell me this tastes better than the Olive Garden version. I have never had the Olive Garden version so I can’t say for sure, but I do know it’s so yummy and definitely needs to be on your menu soon.
Pecan Cream Pie – Like a pecan pie but in a creamy and fluffy version. It really is amazing and it somehow makes it’s way into every major holiday dinner. Like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and usually a birthday or two cause we love it so much.
Crock Pot Turkey Breast – So easy to make and it even makes it’s own gravy! I am not a fan of those huge giant turkeys that you have to reach inside of and clean out, so I always opt to make this turkey breast for Thanksgiving. It’s so easy and delicious that I have been known to make it for dinner during the week.
Homemade Ranch Dressing – I can not say enough good things about this ranch dressing. I will never, and have never, bought the store bought stuff after making this. Easy ingredients like sour cream, mayo, and buttermilk plus some staple pantry seasonings. It is so good and keeps in the fridge for up to a week. I always make a big batch for the week. I use this stuff in any recipe that calls for ranch dressing like this ranch pasta salad.
Turkey Taco Burrito Bowls – These have also been in the top recipes every single year since I first posted the recipe back in 2015. They’re healthy, easy to make, so yummy, and everyone loves them cause you can make it your own with all your favorite toppings. And the best part is that they make for great leftovers through out the week for a healthy lunch.
Peach Cobbler Dump Cake – This dessert is easy to make and perfect when topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. And it uses canned peaches so you can make it year round. You’re welcome 🙂
The Best Monster Cookies – If you love thick, soft-baked cookies that are loaded with oats, peanut butter, chocolate, and m&m’s then these will be your favorite. This is probably the cookie recipe I make the most for my own family.
Dill Pickle Pasta Salad – I only posted this recipe about halfway into 2019 but it’s already beat out hundreds of other recipes for a spot in the top 12. It is amazing and if you love pickles then you just may eat the whole salad. I make it on repeat during the spring and summer for all the bbq’s, picnics, and gatherings. I also use the homemade ranch dressing for this salad. Try it with the homemade ranch. Which also happened to make the top 12 list too.
These recipes missed out on the TOP 12 by just a little bit. They are some of our favorites so I wanted to be sure and add them!
Tomato Hamburger Vegetable Soup – Out of the hundreds of recipes on my blog this soup recipe has the highest reviews! I have never had a bad review of this recipe. It is amazingly delicious and perfect for a cold winters day. Or any day really. I even make this during the summer when it’s 100 degrees outside.
Cream Cheese Alfredo Sauce – Another easy dinner recipe! Make this homemade alfredo sauce in one pot on the stove and serve it over some noodles. My kids love this over the rotini spiral noodles. And it has cream cheese in it and heavy cream so you know it’s going to be delicious.
Homemade Spaghetti Meat Sauce – Whenever we have family or guests over I make this recipe. It’s always a hit and it tastes and smells like it’s straight from an Italian mom’s kitchen. I end up making it at least 2x per month and sometimes more for my own family. My tip is to let it simmer as long as you can on the stove top. I usually let it simmer for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour.
