Homemade Ranch Seasoning

Don't waste any more money on those ranch seasoning packets. Whip up your own homemade ranch seasoning mix. It tastes so much better, it has less salt, and no added ingredients, compared to the store-bought seasoning packets. Plus, it's cheaper and you know exactly what's in it!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk powder
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried chives
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients into a bowl and stir with a whisk until combined.
  • Store the ranch seasoning in an air-tight container or jar, I use a mason jar, at room temperature in the cupboard.
  • Use 2 tablespoons of the homemade ranch seasoning in any recipe that calls for a packet of ranch seasoning mix.

Notes

Serving Size : This recipe makes 14 tablespoons which is enough for 7 packets of ranch seasoning mix. Each packet equals 2 tablespoons of homemade ranch mix. 
TIP : I don't use this homemade ranch seasoning to make ranch dressing. There is something in those store-bought packets that probably helps to thicken the dressing. This recipe is mainly used to replace the store bought ranch packets that you would use in a recipe. 
Ranch Dressing : If you are making ranch dressing with this homemade ranch seasoning mix then combine 2 tablespoons seasoning mix, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, and up to 1/2 cup milk depending on how thick or thin you want the dressing to be.
