Froot Loop Cereal Bars

Froot Loop Cereal Bars are an easy treat recipe that only needs 3 ingredients! Froot Loops cereal, mini marshmallows, and butter is all you need for these colorful, fruity, and sweet treats.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Froot Loops Cereal
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 7 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  • Prepare an 8x8-inch baking dish and spray it with cooking spray, or you can line it with parchment paper or tin foil.
  • Measure out 6 cups of Froot Loops cereal and set it aside for later.
  • In a large pot, over low to medium-low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir until melted & completely smooth.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and pour the Froot Loops cereal into it. Stir it together until all the cereal is coated in the marshmallow mix and it's mixed together well.
  • Pour the Froot Loop mixture into the prepared pan and gently press it into the pan. Let the cereal bars sit at room temperature for about 1-2 hours or until set.
    * You can place the bars in the fridge to speed this up, but let them come to room temperature before eating them.
  • Store any leftovers in an air-tight container, at room temperature, for up to 3 days.
    * I think these are best eaten within 24 hours of making them.

Notes

Mini Marshmallows : 7 cups of mini marshmallows is equal to 12 oz. You will need to buy the larger bag (16 oz) of mini marshmallows to have enough for this recipe. You can use the extra marshmallows, like 1 cup, and add them in with the cereal. This way, you have whole chunks of soft marshmallow through out the bar. This is optional. 
Butter : I normally use salted butter for all my baking, but unsalted butter will work really well in this recipe too. Use whichever you have.
