Ingredients

  • 3-4 pounds boneless country style ribs
  • 1 tablespoon oil (canola, vegetable, or olive)
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne red pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (plus more for serving)

Instructions

  • Unwrap the country style ribs from the package and lay them onto a cutting board or plate.
  • Drizzle oil over the pork ribs.
    In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, ground mustard, and cayenne red pepper (if using).

  • Using your clean hands rub the spice mix all over the ribs, both sides, making sure to coat them well.

  • Add the beef broth into the Instant Pot insert. Place the ribs inside.
    * It's ok if they're touching or stacked on each other. Like in the picture.
  • Set the valve to the 'sealing' position. Pressure cook on HIGH for 45 minutes. Allow for a 15 minute natural pressure release once done.
    * A natural pressure release means that you are letting the pressure release naturally, rather than moving the valve from the 'sealed' position to the 'venting' position.

  • Using tongs, move the ribs to a baking sheet lined with foil. Baste with BBQ sauce.

  • Broil for 8-10 minutes or until the tips begin to brown. Serve with additional BBQ sauce.
    * Watch the ribs closely while broiling. They can burn quickly.
