  • Carefully move the pan to the oven and bake for 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and immediately gently press 1 pecan half onto the center of each Rolo.
    * Don't press too hard or else the soft chocolate could flood over the sides of the pretzel. Just gently press it onto the Rolo.

  • Let the pretzel turtles cool at room temperature for 1 hour or until the chocolate is set.

Notes

Substitution Ideas -
  • Nut Allergy : Instead of the pecan half try using an m&m (any variety), mini marshmallows, or just simply leave off the pecan.
  • Pretzel : If you can't find the square snap pretzels then try using the regular miniature pretzel twists instead.
  • Make as Many as You Want! : The beauty of this recipe is that you can make as much, or as little, of these delicious treats as you want! A cookie sheet will fit much more than 48 of these so add as many pretzels as you like to the cookie sheet. Just make sure that you have enough Rolo candies and pecan halves to top them all with.
Recipe Tips -
  • Bake Time : The bake time listed in the recipe is 2-3 minutes. You will know the Rolo candies are soft enough when they look slightly shiny. You should not be taking out the pan with the Rolo candy part already melted out of its normal shape. That means you probably left it in there too long.
  • Square Pretzels : I highly recommend using the square shaped pretzels (labeled as 'snaps' on the bag) because they hold up the soft chocolate better than the regular pretzel twists.
  • Tip : Make sure that you have the pecan halves in a bowl and ready to go immediately after you pull the pan out of the oven. You want to make sure that you gently press the pecan onto each Rolo while they're warm and very soft.
