Make this super easy 4 ingredient Crockpot Easter Candy with almond bark, pastel m&m's, honey roasted peanuts, and sprinkles! It's a dump & go recipe that cooks itself. Similar to no bake cookies but instead we're using the perfect sweet & salty combo with peanuts + chocolate and candy.
2packages (24 oz each)vanilla flavored almond bark
2cupspastel Easter M&M'sdivided
Easter sprinkles
Instructions
Pour the peanuts into the insert of the crockpot. Spread them out evenly along the bottom.
1 jar (34.5 oz) honey roasted peanuts
Remove the vanilla almond bark from the packages and break it up into squares. * It's easiest to use a butter knife to wedge in-between the squares in order to break them easily.
2 packages (24 oz each) vanilla flavored almond bark
Add the squares of almond bark over top the peanuts.
Cook on LOW heat for 1 hour. Thoroughly mix the nuts and chocolate until all the nuts are covered in the melted almond bark.
Return the lid to the crockpot and cook on LOW heat for an additional 30 minutes. * After the cook time, stir everything together really well.
Use oven mitts to remove the insert from the crockpot. Gently fold in 1 cup of the M&M's. Immediately use a 3-tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop the candy out onto a piece of parchment paper. * Have your parchment paper ready to go. Either put it on the countertop or line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.* Work quickly to scoop the candy out to prevent the m&m's from melting too much in the warmed melted chocolate + peanut mixture.
Once all the candy is scooped out, top each one with a few M&M's (from the remaining 1 cup of m&m's) and some sprinkles.
Allow the candy to set at room temperature for 1 hour OR in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Notes
Crockpot Size : It's best to use a smaller crockpot (5 QT or 6 QT) for this recipe. If you are using a larger crockpot, make a note that the cook time will probably be slightly less just because it's bigger and there is more surface area for the candy to go and heat up. I have linked to the 6 QT crockpot that I own and love. I also prefer using a crockpot that has a countdown timer on it, rather than just a dial with the preset times on it, because this candy only needs a 1 hour cook time + 30 minute cook time. Liners : For a mess-free crockpot insert try using slow cooker liners when making this candy.Scooping Tip : Once you stir in the 1 cup of m&m's, into the warmed melted chocolate peanut mixture, they will melt fairly quickly so its' important to work quickly to scoop the candy onto the parchment paper. Have your parchment paper ready to go, either on the countertop or line a cookie sheet with it, and use a 3 tablespoon cookie scoop in order to speed up the process of scooping. Use a Cookie Scoop : For best results, use a 3 tablespoon cookie scoop for this recipe. If you don't have one, or don't want to buy one, use a 1/4 measuring cup and just don't fill it all the way but rather eyeball it. A 1/4 cup measuring cup is 4 tablespoons, so filling a little lower from the top will be about 3 tablespoons.Leftovers : Store the candy at room temperature, in an airtight container, for up to 5 days. You can also store the candy in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Variation & Substitution Ideas : There are a few ways to change up this recipe for crockpot candy with peanuts and almond bark. Here are some ideas!
Nuts : I have only ever used the honey roasted peanuts, so that's what I prefer and recommend, but you can use any nuts or variety of nuts that you want. Just make sure that you are using the same amount that is called for in the recipe.
Almond Bark : For a chocolate based candy try using chocolate flavored almond bars instead of vanilla.
Holidays : Make this candy for any Holiday by using coordination M&M mixes + sprinkles.
