Ingredients
1cupfull-fat sour cream
1/2cupmayonnaise
1teaspoondried dill weed
1teaspoondried parsley
1teaspoondried chives
½teaspoongarlic powder
½teaspoononion powder
¼teaspoonsalt(I use kosher salt or sea salt)
¼teaspoonground black pepper
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, or the serving bowl, add the sour cream, mayonnaise, dill weed, parsley, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir with a whisk or spatula until thoroughly mixed together well. * You may want to taste the dip at this point and see if you want any additional/more of a particular dried seasoning. Depending on the salt used, you may need to add a pinch more.
1 cup full-fat sour cream, 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon dried dill weed, 1 teaspoon dried parsley, 1 teaspoon dried chives, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ¼ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Cover the bowl with a lid, or plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving. * Chill time is important because it allows the flavors to develop and the dip to get cold. Refrigerate up to overnight for even better results.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and serve alongside fresh veggies, chips, and or crackers. This dip is best eaten cold.
Notes
Yield : This recipe yields about 1.5 cups of ranch dip. Each serving is equal to about 3 tablespoons each. Seasonings : If you want to use fresh herbs, remember that the general rule of thumb is that you use 3x the amount of dried seasonings. Dairy Tip : For the best taste and texture, I highly recommend using full-fat, real mayonnaise and full fat sour cream. It makes a big difference in the dip when you use the real stuff, and not the watered down 'lite' options.
