Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 1/4 cup Simply Fruit Punch
  • 1/4 cup Glacier Cherry Gatorade (full sugar version)
  • 1/4 cup Berry Blue Typhoon Hawaiian Punch

Instructions

  • * The 1/4 cup measurement above are for an 8 oz glass cup. If using larger sized cups, just eye ball it, or increase it depending on how large the cup is.
  • Fill a glass cup, or clear plastic cup, with ice.
  • Pour the Simply Fruit Punch into the bottom of the glass. Let it sit for a few seconds so all the red juice can drain to the bottom from the ice.
  • Slowly and gently pour the white gatorade into the glass, over the red layer.
    * To help with this, hold a silver spoon over the cup, and pour the gatorade onto the back of the spoon. This way, it will gently glide into the cup, rather than a harsh pour that might mess up the red layer.
  • Slowly pour the blue Hawaiian Punch into the glass cup to create the last layer.
  • Serve immediately. Serving suggestions are a red and white striped paper straw, patriotic paper straws, licorice as a straw (like Red Vines), maraschino cherry, and/or an American Flag toothpick topper.

Notes

Nutrition Information : No information is listed because this drink varies greatly depending on what you use for it.
Tip : Immediately serve these drinks once you make them. As they sit, the ice will water down the drink, making the layers not as noticeable. It also dilutes the flavor too.
Layers : The most important thing to remember is that the heaviest concentration of sugar content goes on the bottom layer. In this case, the bottom layer is red. Use any red punch or drink you want but make sure it has the highest sugar content of the layers. Same thing with the white and blue layers. Use other drinks in that color, whatever you prefer, but make sure the sugar content (per serving) goes from highest to lowest. This is what makes the drink 'layered'.
Measurements : I normally don't use a measuring cup, I just eyeball it and try to separate the layers into three somewhat even layers inside the glass.
In this recipe card, I have posted some affiliate amazon links with the glass cups I use and some clear plastic cups that would be great for this drink as well. If you purchase, I get a small percentage. As always, I appreciate the support.
