Instructions
In a large pot over medium-high heat, brown and crumble the ground beef with the diced onion. I like to add 1/2 teaspoon of salt here to flavor the meat. Drain.
Add in the remaining ingredients and stir together. Bring to a boil. Once boiling turn heat down to medium-low or low and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
Serve with all your favorite chili toppings!
Notes
The cans are the standard size 15 oz cans.Use a white onion, yellow onion, or a sweet onion. If you prefer less of a tomato based chili then add about 1/2 cup of water to the chili to make the tomato flavor less strong and thin it out. It seems all spaghetti sauce jars are different sizes. Just get one around 20-26 oz and you will be fine. Also, pick out whatever sauce you want. There are so many varieties so try some and see which one you love. I usually go for a garlic one or roasted red pepper. I always use a packet of mild taco seasoning. You can also use a reduced-sodium packet of taco seasoning but I find that it really has no flavor to it. Therefore the end result of the food is bland.
