Notes

Recipe Tips -
  • Softened Butter : To avoid lumps in the butter mixture make sure that it is well softened before mixing in the other ingredients. You can even microwave the butter for about 15-20 seconds, so you end up with softened chunked butter + some melted butter (which is totally fine).
  • Shred Your Own Cheese : I always recommend buying blocks of cheese and using a cheese grater to shred them, instead of buying the bags of pre-shredded cheese. The cheese melts better and I think it tastes much better when you shred it yourself. Of course, sometimes you need it quickly, so in that case using pre-shredded cheeses is just fine.
  • Parmesan Cheese : Use whatever type you prefer. I love buying a wedge of parmesan cheese and grating it with a cheese grater. The fresh stuff tastes amazing on garlic bread. There are lots of options like the cheaper grated parmesan cheese in bottle, refrigerated shredded or grated parmesan cheese, etc. Use what you have in your fridge or use what you love.
  • Broil : If you prefer garlic bread that has those golden brown crispy edges then make sure that you broil it for a few minutes after the cook time. Watch it carefully because it all burn quickly! If your family prefers softer garlic bread then only do the cook time and skip the broil.
