Sugar Cookie Cherry Cobbler is an easy short-cut dessert that only needs 3 ingredients to make! Similar to a dump cake, this cherry cobbler uses a sugar cookie mix, canned cherry pie filling, and butter to create a deliciously sweet cobbler dessert.
Dump the cherry pie filling into a 9x13 baking dish and spread it out into an even layer.
2 cans (21 oz each) cherry pie filling
In a mixing bowl, stir together the dry sugar cookie mix and melted butter until combined and it forms a crumbly mixture. Spoon this over the cherry pie filling in the baking dish.
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of each serving.
Notes
Sugar Cookie Mix : This is the bagged mix that you will find near the cake mixes and muffin mixes in the baking aisle. Use the dry, unprepared cookie mix from the package. You can also use any other flavor of cookie mix that you want - chocolate chip, snickerdoodle (mix the sugar packet in with the butter mixture in the recipe), or chocolate fudge.Pie Filling : Experiment with flavors and substitute any canned pie filling! Serving Tip : This cobbler is best served within a few hours of making it. It's best served warm, from the oven, topped with vanilla ice cream. I don't recommend making it ahead of time.
