Prep : Peel and cut off any bad parts of the baby potatoes. No need to peel them unless you prefer it, and no need to slice them. Put them in the crockpot whole. If you're not using stew meat, cut the steak into larger bite-sized pieces (1" to 2" in size).
Add the baby potatoes, steak meat, beef broth, onion, garlic, onion soup mix, and steak seasoning into the bottom of the crockpot and stir everything together.
Use a slotted spoon to serve the meat and potatoes. Eat them as is or serve them over cooked rice or egg noodles. Spoon some of the au jus sauce from the crockpot over top.
Notes
Steak : There are several choices of steak that you can use in this recipe! Stew meat is already cut into pieces making it an easy choice, or try using other cuts such as chuck steak, flat iron steak, top sirloin steaks, rib eye steak, chuck roast, or round steak.
Cut Steak Into Bite-Sized Pieces : Stew meat is already cut into larger pieces so there is no prep needed is using that. You can use another steak cut and cut it into larger, 1 to 2 -inch pieces (similar in size to the stew meat).
Steak Seasoning : I like the Kinder brand steak seasoning, but you can use your favorite steak seasoning blend like Montreal steak seasoning or Weber steak seasoning. Or pick your favorite seasoning blend and use that instead.
Baby Potatoes : Grocery stores sell a small bag (1.5 ponds) of baby potatoes. Just wash the potatoes, peel off any bad skin parts, and add them whole into the crockpot. If you are using regular sized potatoes (like russet potatoes) then you will want to chop them into larger pieces similar in size to the baby potatoes
