Blue Cheese Dip

Blue Cheese Dip is creamy, tangy, and loaded with bold flavor from crumbled blue cheese. It pairs perfectly as a dip for wings, fresh veggies, a wedge salad, or as a chip dip. Takes just minutes to make and it's always a favorite for game day, gatherings, and parties.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces blue cheese crumbles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (flat-leaf parsley)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (I use sea salt or kosher salt)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, or serving bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix until well blended.
4 ounces blue cheese crumbles, 1 cup sour cream, 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup sliced green onions, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
*You can refrigerate the dip for up to 24 hours. I prefer a longer chill time as it gives more time for the flavors to blend and the dip to get really cold.
  • Serve with your favorite chips, vegetables, or wings. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Sour Cream : An alternative, healthier option is to use plain Greek yogurt. This will significantly change the taste so I recommend maybe using 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt + 1/2 sour cream. For best results, use full-fat sour cream for the best creamy thick texture and rich taste.
  • Mayonnaise : For an egg-free option use a vegan mayonnaise. I also recommend using a full-fat mayonnaise as the overall taste and texture of the dip will be much better. Of course you could use light, avocado oil, or olive oil mayonnaise as well.
  • Fresh Parsley : Make sure you are using the flat-leaf parsley and not the curly leaf parsley. You could use dried parsley (only use 2 teaspoons) but please note, that using dried parsley will give the dip a more earthy flavor, while using fresh parsley gives the dip a fresher and brighter flavor.
  • Serving Suggestions : Fresh veggie sticks like celery, carrots, and cucumbers. As a dip for crispy chicken wings. As a dressing for a wedge salad. Use it as a sauce for sandwiches or wraps. Serve with an assortment of crackers, pita bread or crackers, tortilla chips, or with warm naan bread.
  • Want A Smooth Dip? : This dip is lumpy because of the blue cheese crumbles. If you want a smooth dip then take an immersion blender to it and blend until smooth. Another alternative is to put all the ingredients (or just the blue cheese crumbles) into a food processor and process/blend until smooth or the texture you want. You could also use a fork to mash the blue cheese crumbles before adding them into the mixing bowl.
