Ground Beef Fajitas

Ground Beef Fajitas are an easy ground beef dinner recipe perfect for those busy weeknights! Seasoned ground beef with homemade fajita seasoning and fajita veggies cook in one skillet pan for an easy dinner that's ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Fajita Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Ground Beef Fajitas

  • 1 pound ground beef (I use 93/7)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion thinly sliced in half moon shape
  • 3 bell peppers thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper until well combined. Set aside for later.

  • In a large skillet pan, over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef until it's no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
    * If the ground beef is really lean, or if you're using ground chicken or ground turkey, you may need to add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil when cooking the ground meat.

  • Add the fajita seasoning mix into the ground beef and cook for 1-2 minutes until combined and fragrant. Transfer the seasoned ground beef to a plate or bowl, set aside for later. 
  • In the same skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and sliced bell peppers and cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring frequently, until the vegetables have softened to your liking and are lightly browned.

  • Add the ground beef back into the skillet pan along with the water. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the water has evaporated.

  • Serve the ground beef fajita mixture inside soft flour tortillas with your favorite fajita toppings (sour cream, salsa, guacamole, cheese, cilantro).
