Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together the chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper until well combined. Set aside for later.
1 tablespoon chili powder, 1½ teaspoons cumin, 1 teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper
In a large skillet pan, over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef until it's no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.* If the ground beef is really lean, or if you're using ground chicken or ground turkey, you may need to add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil when cooking the ground meat.
1 pound ground beef
Add the fajita seasoning mix into the ground beef and cook for 1-2 minutes until combined and fragrant. Transfer the seasoned ground beef to a plate or bowl, set aside for later.
In the same skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and sliced bell peppers and cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring frequently, until the vegetables have softened to your liking and are lightly browned.
2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 yellow onion, 3 bell peppers
Add the ground beef back into the skillet pan along with the water. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the water has evaporated.
1/4 cup water
Serve the ground beef fajita mixture inside soft flour tortillas with your favorite fajita toppings (sour cream, salsa, guacamole, cheese, cilantro).
