Roast Beef Sliders

Roast Beef Sliders are the perfect mix of savory, sweet, buttery, and cheesy all packed into soft Hawaiian rolls. Made with thinly sliced tender roast beef and melty cheese, then baked until golden brown.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 package (12-count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 12 slices cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 5 tablespoons salted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉. Lightly spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish, or casserole pan, with nonstick cooking spray.
*You can also line the pan with parchment paper to make it easier to lift the sliders out and cut them for serving (I like to do this).
  • Slice the attached hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise using a serrated knife, making sure to keep the bottom half and top half pieces intact (don't separate the rolls, keep it as one piece). Place the bottom half piece in the prepared baking dish.
1 package (12-count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • Layer on half of the cheese slices, followed by the thinly sliced roast beef, then the remaining half of cheese slices, and then top it off with the top half of the hawaiian rolls.
12 slices cheddar cheese, 3/4 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, parmesan cheese, dried minced onion, and garlic powder. Brush the butter mixture over the tops of the rolls using a pastry brush.
5 tablespoons salted butter, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese, 1 tablespoon dried minced onion, 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Cut the sandwiches into individual servings (12 pieces) and serve warm!

Notes

Cooking Tip : If you don't want the tops of the sliders to be crisper and really golden brown, I suggest loosely covering the baking dish with foil for the baking time, and then removing the foil for the last 10 minutes or so, so the tops can get golden brown.
Roast Beef : I strongly recommend going to the meat deli counter and asking for 3/4 pound roast beef thinly sliced. You can always use the pre-package roast beef sandwich meat but I promise you that getting it freshly sliced from the deli makes these sliders taste so much better.
Cheese : Any sliced cheese works great in this recipe! Cheddar cheese is classic, but other good options are Colby jack, provolone, muenster, havarti, or Swiss.

Can I Add A Layer Of Mayonnaise, Or Something Else, To The Inside Of The Sandwiches?

Yes, this is a common addition to sliders. You can spread on a layer of mayonnaise, dijon mustard, honey mustard, or creamy horseradish sauce (or a combination of a few of them) on the bottom half of the rolls before layering on the cheese and meat. I would recommend only spreading a thin layer of any condiments so that the sliders don't become soggy. I prefer cooking the sliders as is, and then for serving, those who want to can add some mayo or mustard, or other toppings. I hate soggy sliders which is why I don't bake the sliders with any sort of sauce in them.

Can I Add Pickles or Peppers?

Yes you can add pickles or peppers to the dish if wanted. I recommend that you add any pickles or peppers after baking to avoid a soggy sandwich. If you prefer to bake them inside the sliders, then make sure you pat them dry with paper towels before placing them onto the sandwiches for baking.
