Baked Tortellini Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 package (18 oz) cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb ground beef (I use 93/7)
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 package (5.2 oz) garlic and fine herbs Boursin cheese unwrapped
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉. Spray a 9x13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray. Set aside. 
  • Cook the tortellini according to the package directions.

  • In a large skillet pan, over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain the excess liquid/grease from the pan.

  • Add the seasoned salt and garlic powder, and stir until all the ground beef is coated in the seasonings.

  • Stir in the marinara sauce and Boursin cheese. Continue to cook until all the cheese has been melted and incorporated into the sauce (about 5 minutes).

  • Add the cooked tortellini into the skillet pan, and gently stir everything together to coat the tortellini in the sauce and meat mixture. 
  • Evenly spread the contents of the skillet pan into the prepared casserole pan. Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over top. 
    8 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the casserole is bubbly. 

Notes

Mozzarella Cheese : I recommend buy an 8 ounce block of mozzarella and shredding it yourself using a box cheese grater, it will melt smoother and creamier versus pre-shredded cheese. You can also use an 8 ounce bag of shredded mozzarella cheese for easier prep if wanted.
