Ingredients

  • 1 package (19.1 oz) family-size Golden Oreos
  • 6 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 bag (12 oz) colored candy melts (bright orange, purple, bright green)
  • 24 large or small candy eyeballs
  • Halloween colored themed sprinkles

Instructions

  • Place the Golden Oreos into a food processor and process until well crushed and in fine crumbs.
    * You may have to do this in batches, depending on the size of the food processor.
    1 package (19.1 oz) family-size Golden Oreos
  • Add in the cream cheese and pulse until well combined.
    * If you did the cookies in batches, place the cookie crumbs inside a large mixing bowl and add the softened cream cheese. Use an electric hand mixer to beat until it's well combined.
    6 ounces cream cheese
  • Use a medium cookie scoop, 1.5 tablespoons, to scoop out the oreo truffle dough and roll it into a tight ball. Place the truffles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Place the truffles inside the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour, to set.
  • When ready to decorate the truffles, place the candy melts inside a microwave-safe mixing bowl and heat in 30 second increments, stirring well after each heating, until smooth and melted.
1 bag (12 oz) colored candy melts
  • Working one at a time, dip the truffle inside the melted chocolate and let the excess drip off. Place the dipped truffle back onto the baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Immediately press a large eyeballs onto the top of each truffle and add some sprinkles on top.
    * TIP : The easiest way to dip the truffles is to use a plastic fork, with the two middle prints broken off of it. Place the truffle onto the "fork", dip it, and let the excess run off. Use a toothpick to help guide the truffle off of the fork.

  • Repeat the process until all the truffles are dipped and decorated.
  • Allow the truffles to set inside the fridge for 30 minutes or at room temperature for up to 1 hour.
  • Enjoy your little monsters!

Notes

Candy Melts : These can be found in the cake decorating aisle at a store like Wal-mart, or you can buy them at a craft store in the cake and cookie decorating aisle. Use any color of candy melts that you want. You can also use white candy melts, white chocolate baking bars, or vanilla almond bark as well - either leave it white or use gel food coloring to dye it a Halloween color.
Optional Decorating Idea : If you want what is pictured in the post (with the garnish of chocolate lines on the truffles) here is what you can do. Place the eye onto the truffle immediately after it has been dipped in the chocolate. Let the truffles set and harden. Place the leftover melted chocolate into a ziplock bag, snip the bottom corner off, and make the lines of chocolate over each truffle. Then, immediately add the sprinkle onto the "wet" chocolate.
