Baked Apples

Cinnamon Streusel

FALL into the sweet smells of baked apples!

4 large pink lady apples 1 bag oatmeal cookie mix 1 c whole old-fashioned oats 1/2 c finely chopped walnuts 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon 1 c salted butter 1½ c water

Preheat oven to 375℉. Find pan baking pan that will fit 8 apple halves.

Cut each apple in half. Remove the seeds and core from each half. Use melon baller to remove some of the inside.

Place the apple halves, cut side up, into the baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, stir together the oatmeal cookie mix, oats, walnuts, and cinnamon until combined.

Add the softened butter and use your clean hands, a pastry cutter, or a hand mixer to combine until the mixture is crumbly.

Stuff each apple with a generous amount of the streusel topping. The streusel should cover the entire top of the apple half.

Bake for 30 minutes, remove the foil, and continue baking for 30-35 minutes or until the apples are soft when pierced with a fork.

Serve the apples while warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
