I can never get enough of all the cute, bright pastel colored, and yummy Easter treats! Wether it be these colorful and chocolatey Crockpot Easter Candy or these candy loaded Easter Surprise Confetti Cookie bars – I love making some fun treats with my kids around the Holidays.
This bunny bait snack mix is simple to prepare with easy ingredients like cereal, pretzels, and white chocolate that covers everything to give it a sweet, salty, and crunchy texture and taste.
Ingredients Needed
- Rice Chex Cereal
- Honey Nut Cheerios
- Pretzel Sticks
- Pastel Easter M&M’s
- White Chocolate : Use a white chocolate baking bar, white chocolate chips, white melting wafers, or white candy melts. Whatever you use, you will need 3 cups of it.

How To Make Bunny Bait For The Easter Bunny (Printable Recipe Card)
Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, add the rice Chex cereal, honey nut cheerios, pretzel sticks, and M&M’s. Stir together until mixed well.
Add the white chocolate chips and shortening/coconut oil to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring well after each one, until completely smooth and melted.
Pour the melted white chocolate over the cereal mix inside the bowl and stir until everything is coated well.
Spread the bunny bait into an even layer on the parchment-lined baking sheet and immediately add the sprinkles over top.
Allow the chocolate to harden at room temperature for about 30 minutes to 1 hour before breaking it into smaller pieces and serving.
How To Store Leftovers
Store leftover bunny bait snack mix in an airtight container, at room temperature, for up to 4 days. I don’t recommend storing the snack mix in the fridge or freezer.
Recipe Tips
- Good Quality White Chocolate : Because the white chocolate really stands out in this recipe, I recommend using a good quality one that you love. I love using the Ghiradelli white chocolate baking bars or the Ghiradelli white chocolate melting wafers. If using chips, I recommend using white chocolate chips instead of the vanilla flavored chips – but again, anything can be used depending on what you have. White almond bark is another option.
- Fresh Ingredients : Make sure the cereal and pretzels are fresh and not stale – otherwise you will lose that classic crunch of the bunny bait. If your kids are like mine, they leave the cereal bags open in the pantry – so make sure your cereal and pretzels are unopened for the best results.
- Melted Chocolate Tip : Once the chocolate is melted it’s important that you immediately pour it over the cereal mix and mix it thoroughly. The chocolate will harden and set fairly quickly so move quickly in order to get mixed in so all the cereal is coated nicely in it.
