This easy Ravioli Lasagna is the ultimate shortcut dinner. Made with a layer of frozen ravioli, ground beef and ground sausage, and three kinds of cheese – this ravioli lasagna casserole has all the comforting flavors of traditional lasagna without all the work.

Easy Ravioli Lasagna Recipe (Uses Frozen Ravioli)
Traditional lasagna is delicious, but it can take quite a bit of time to prepare. This ravioli lasagna recipe gives you all those class lasagna flavors with a simple shortcut – using refrigerated or frozen ravioli instead of lasagna noodles.
The ravioli are already stuffed with creamy cheese, so you get an extra layer of cheesy goodness in every bite! Plus, you use the ravioli straight from the freezer – no need to boil the pasta before using.
The casserole is easy to assemble with a ground beef + ground sausage layer, three kinds of cheese including ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese, and then of course a layer of cheese stuffed ravioli.

How To Make a Ravioli Lasagna Casserole (Printable Recipe Card)
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13 casserole pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the ground beef and ground sausage until it’s browned. Drain or soak up the excess grease from the skillet.
Stir the marinara sauce into the ground meat mixture until well combined.

In a mixing bowl, add the ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, and Italian seasoning. Stir until well combined.

Spread 1/2 cup of the meat sauce into the bottom of the prepared casserole dish. Layer half of the frozen ravioli over the meat sauce. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the ravioli. Spoon all the ricotta cheese mixture over top the mozzarella cheese.
Repeat the layers with the remaining meat sauce, remaining frozen ravioli, and finish it off with the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese.

Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and lightly golden brown.
Let the casserole rest for about 5 minutes before serving it warm. Enjoy!

How To Store and Reheat Leftover Ravioli Lasagna
Store leftover lasagna casserole covered, in the refrigerator, for up to 4 days. You can leave the ravioli lasagna inside the casserole dish covered with a lid or plastic wrap, or transfer individual portions to an airtight container for storage.
To reheat, microwave individual portions for 60-90 seconds until the desired temperature has been reached.

Pro Tips From The Test Kitchen
- I recommend buying a block of mozzarella cheese or fresh mozzarella cheese and using a cheese grater to shred it by hand.
- I use the cheaper, shelf-stable parmesan cheese but you can also use freshly shredded parmesan cheese or a refrigerated option.
- Use any variety of marinara sauce you love. The flavor really shines through in the recipe so use one you love.
- I like to set out the frozen ravioli at the beginning of the prep so it has about 10 minutes or so to slightly thaw. You can use the frozen ravioli straight from the freezer, but I like to give it a little extra time at room temperature so it cooks up nice and soft in the oven. My family likes softer pasta and not al dente.

Recipe FAQs
Do I Need To Thaw The Frozen Ravioli or Cook It Before Assembling The Lasagna?
No, there is no need to thaw the ravioli before layering into the dish. It will thaw and heat during the cook time. I do set the frozen ravioli out on the countertop while I am gathering ingredients and preparing the meat mixture. So it does have a few minutes to thaw slightly.
Can I Add Vegetables?
If you would like to add fresh sliced or chopped mushrooms, spinach, diced onions, or bell peppers they can be added into the ground beef mixture and cooked alongside the ground beef and ground sausage.
What Is The Best Kind of Ravioli To Use?
A cheese ravioli, cheese and spinach ravioli, or there are meat options such as sausage ravioli or mushrooms.
Can This Be Prepared Ahead of Time?
Yes, it can be prepped up to 24 hours in advance. Assemble to the point of baking, then cover the dish tightly and refrigerate until ready to bake. Allow the chilled casserole dish to sit out at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes for best results before baking.
