Simple Ingredients For Cookie Dough Dip

  1. Cream Cheese : For the best thick texture I recommend using full-fat cream cheese but reduced-fat cream cheese can be used with a great results.
  2. Salted Butter : Make sure the butter is well softened to room temperature so it mixes in smoothly without any lumps.
  3. Light Brown Sugar
  4. Granulated Sugar : If you don’t want the grainy sugary texture, like traditional cookie dough, then use double the amount of powdered sugar instead. So 1/2 cup powdered sugar to replace the 1/4 cup granulated sugar that the recipe calls for.
  5. Vanilla Extract
  6. Mini Chocolate Chips : Any chocolate chip can be used here; dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, regular sized semi-sweet chocolate chips, etc.

What Do I Dip In Creamy Cookie Dough Dip?

The best thing about this delicious cookie dough dip are all the dipping options for it! I love laying out several dipping options on a large serving platter and then everyone can take what they want. Here are some ideas to get you started for dipping options for this sweet dip.

  • Fresh Fruit – Strawberries
  • Animal Crackers
  • Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies – Buy from a bakery or use the mini Oreos or mini Chips Ahoy
  • Nilla Wafers
  • Honey Graham Crackers or Chocolate Graham Crackers
  • Teddy Grahams – Honey, Chocolate, or Chocolate Chip
  • Salty & Sweet Combo with Pretzels (my fave!)

How To Store Leftover Dip

Store any remaining cookie dough dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Ensure that’s it is well sealed or covered to maintain freshness. Refrigerate for up to 3-5 days. The dip will harden and be difficult to dip into, but if you leave it out at room temperature for 10 minutes or so, it will soften up and be more ‘dippable’.

Can I Modify This Yummy Dip Recipe?

  • Chocolate Cookie Dough Dip : Add 1/4 cup of cocoa powder to make a chocolate dip.
  • Don’t Want The Traditional Sugary Texture of Cookie Dough? : If you want a smoother cookie dough dip, without that grainy sugar texture like traditional cookie dough, then try using powdered sugar instead of the granulated sugar called for in the recipe. You will need to double the sugar amount if using powdered sugar – so use 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
  • Chocolate Chips : Use peanut butter chips, mint chocolate chips, chopped Mint Andes chocolates, dark chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, toffee bits, or white chocolate chips. You can even use a mix of several of them if wanted.
  • Add Flavorings : Add some mint extract if using mint chocolate chips or Andes chocolates. Add some lemon extract if using white chocolate chips.
  • Add-Ins : Add in some chopped Oreo cookies for a cookies & cream inspired dip. Stir in some chopped grasshopper mint cookies for a mint chocolate chip cookie dough dip. Use some chopped vanilla Oreos if making a lemon version with lemon extract and white chocolate chips.

Tips For Making This Easy Cookie Dough Dip Recipe

  • Beat Butter + Cream Cheese Tip : It’s so important that you beat the butter and cream cheese for at least 2 minutes. It may seem like a long time, but trust me, you want to whip as much air and fluff into that mixture as possible. Make sure it’s much paler in color and that it looks fluffy and almost cloud-like when you’re done.
  • Using Unsalted Butter? : If using unsalted butter make sure to add a pinch of salt into the cookie dough mixture. Any salt will work such as table salt, sea salt (my preference), or kosher salt. Add about 1/4 teaspoon or slightly less.
  • Fridge Tip : Once the dip has refrigerated it will get harder and much thicker in texture. Make sure to leave it out at room temperature for several minutes before serving it again from the fridge. For a soft and ‘dippable’ texture serve the cookie dough right away. But if you prefer a chilled dip then cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1-2 hours before serving. Again, making sure to set it out at room temperature so it can soften before serving.

Notes

Serving Size : This recipe makes 3 1/2 cups of cookie dough dip. The nutrition information is for 14 servings with each serving being equal to 1/4 cup of cookie dough dip. Dippers are not included.
Dipping Options : Lay out an assortment of dipping options on a serving platter with the bowl of cookie dough dip in the center. Here are some ideas – strawberries, teddy grahams (chocolate, honey, or chocolate chip), animal crackers, Oreo cookies, Chips Ahoy, pretzels, graham crackers (chocolate, honey, or cinnamon), etc.
Chocolate Chips : I like using the mini chocolate chips but you can use any chocolate chip you want like dark chocolate, milk chocolate, mint, butterscotch, white chocolate, toffee bits, peanut butter chips, etc.
Don’t Want Classic Grainy Cookie Dough? : Like traditional cookie dough, this dip will have a sugary grainy texture from the granulated sugar.
