Menu Plan Monday is a new series on Together as Family that brings you delicious and family-approved dinner ideas for the week. Each menu includes six dinners plus one tasty dessert to enjoy!
Welcome! We’re ready to start another busy week here at my house – daily swim practices for my daughter, flag football, tennis, piano recital, and the beginning of high school marching band for my oldest.
I love having a meal plan ready because if I know some days & evenings are going to be really busy – I will just save my sanity and stress and either pick something up on the way home or go through the drive-thru (I don’t love fast food so I always let my kids pick somewhere). So even if there are 6 meals here on the menu plan doesn’t always mean that you have to plan on making something 6 days per week! This is just a guide to help you during the week. Pick and choose your favorites and plan dinner around how busy the evening is that day.
MONDAY
This 20 minute dinner is a Monday must! This recipe combined BBQ flavors + classic beef tacos for an amazing twist to taco night.
TUESDAY
Making chicken salad for dinner is one of my faves! Make the chicken salad in the morning and then when it’s dinnertime, everything is ready to go. It’s also a great idea if your family will be eating at different times as the chicken salad can just stay cold or you can pack the sandwiches with you.
WEDNESDAY
Make lots of cheeseburgers at once with this recipe. Everyone can top their own with whatever toppings they like – shredded lettuce, ketchup, mayo, mustard, sliced tomatoes, onion, and pickles.
THURSDAY
Everyone loves ramen! This one skillet pan dinner combined ramen noodles and seasoned ground beef to create easy ramen bowls. I buy some frozen egg rolls and serve them on the side.
FRIDAY
Enjoy the McDonalds iconic menu item in a hot dog. This is always a fun recipe that is great served alongside some chips and fresh fruit.
SATURDAY
KITCHEN’S CLOSED – GO DO SOMETHING FUN, ORDER OUT, OR HAVE LEFTOVERS
SUNDAY
Enjoy the warm spring weather and grill outside. Serve the grilled shrimp alongside some side dishes like Steakhouse Potato Salad, Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus, Pesto Tortellini, or some Rice Pilaf.
DESSERT OF THE WEEK
NO BAKE BANANA SPLIT ICEBOX CAKE
No baking needed for this easy, creamy, and light icebox cake that has all the classic flavors of a banana split.
