I have been SO excited to share this monster cookie dough cheeseball dip with you all. Actually I should say re-share this recipe with you all. I originally posted this back in May 2015! I had only been blogging for a month so I was not very good at taking attractive & appetizing photos!
I thought it was about time I update this recipe because it is beyond words delicious. Just trust me on this one. Please, if you make one thing from this blog, let this be it!
This monster cookie dough cheeseball dip has become a staple at our house. We make it for football games and shape it into a football, or shape it into lips for a Valentines Day party. This dip is pretty much made for any family gathering, any football viewing party, and basically anytime we have people over and need something sweet to munch on.
Well, I should admit that they mainly like eating the m&m’s off the top and then taking a spoon and eating the cookie dough. Our cheeseball usually ends up a mess and not much of a “ball” after my kids are done with it.
My favorite way to eat this is with pretzels. I am a sucker for that sweet n’ salty combo. It’s also really good with Nilla Wafers, Chips Ahoy mini cookies, and Nutter Butter minis.
My tip to get lots of dipping options (without spending a small fortune!) is to buy the Go-Paks of the Nilla Wafers, Chips Ahoy cookies, and Nutter Butters. They’re only $1 and it allows you to have lots of fun dip options for cheap.
Of course, don’t forget the pretzels. I prefer the mini twists for this dip 🙂
If you don’t feel like shaping it into a ball and pressing m&m’s on it, then go ahead and combine the mini m&m’s into the cookie dough and then eat! Either way you make it I can promise it will be delish.
Tips for making Monster Cookie Dough Cheeseball Dip
- For some added crunch use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy.
- If you don’t want to cover the outside of the ball with the m&m’s, then just add the mini m&m’s right into the cookie dough and mix. Place in a serving bowl and set out the dippers around it.
- Quick oats are preferred for this recipe as they are small and have a finer texture. You can use regular whole oats but the oats are larger and will change the texture a bit of the cheeseball. Not as creamy & smooth.
- I really prefer the mini sized m&m’s and chocolate chips to the regular size. Try to get the mini sized if possible.
- The cheeseball will soften up after a few minutes of sitting out at room temperature. If serving to guests, get it out of the fridge several minutes before serving so it can soften a bit and be more easily “dippable” 🙂

Monster Cookie Dough Cheeseball Dip
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup quick oats
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup mini m&m's
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, or use a hand-held blender, combine the butter, cream cheese, and peanut butter. Cream together until light in color and combined.
- Add the vanilla extract and brown sugar. Blend together.
- Add the powdered sugar and quick oats. Blend together.
- Add the mini chocolate chips and mini m&m's. Blend together just until incorporated.
- Use a spatula or your hands and form it into a ball. The dough is not sticky and will form easily. Place the cheeseball on the serving plate and gently press the mini m&m's into it.
- Cover with plastic wrap and let refrigerate for 1-2 hours. You can also serve it right away too.
- Serve with your favorite dippers; pretzels, nutter butter cookies, nilla wafers, etc.
