Easy Greek Yogurt Apple Dip (Easy Snack Recipe)

This greek yogurt fruit dip is always a huge hit! Especially during the summer months when the kids are home all day and want something to munch on. It’s so easy to whip up with only 3 easy ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen.

The best part is that there are so many ways to switch it up if wanted. Simply use a different flavor or variety of yogurt, switch up the peanut butter, and try a different sweetener such as maple syrup, monk sweetener, a sugar substitute, or light brown sugar.

When my kids were younger we always went to the apple orchards and went apple picking, and the first thing we would make was this apple dip. I remember my kids using spoons once all the apples were gone.

3 Simple Ingredients

  1. Vanilla Greek Yogurt : Plain greek yogurt can also be used for a less sweet dip; I have made this so many times and the vanilla yogurt tastes the best. You can also use plain yogurt or vanilla yogurt if you prefer it over Greek yogurt.
  2. Peanut Butter : If you need to worry about a peanut allergy then try using sunflower butter, wow butter, or another seed butter as a good replacement. Any peanut butter can be used; honey roasted, crunchy, creamy, all-natural, almond butter, etc.
  3. Honey

This yogurt dip can be served right away, or refrigerate it for 1-2 hours before serving, for a chilled dip. I prefer eating the dip chilled. Keep the dip stored, covered, in the fridge for up to 5 days. Serve with apple slices (red or green apples are both delicious) and/or fresh fruit like pineapple, strawberries, and grapes.

How To Store Greek Yogurt Apple Dip

Because of the yogurt, this dip needs to always best stored in the fridge. Store leftovers inside an airtight container, or cover the bowl of dip with a lid or plastic wrap. This dip tastes best eaten chilled from the fridge, but it will soften slightly as it sits out at room temperature.

Serving Suggestions For Healthy Apple Dip

This is a great snack to serve with an assortment of dipping options. My family prefers apple slices, but there are lots of other ways to enjoy this easy recipe. Here are some ideas to get you started.

  • Apple Slices – Crunchy apples like gala apples, pink lady, fuji apples, or honeycrisp apples. Or use a tart apple like Granny Smith apples. If you prefer a sweeter taste, then try sweeter apples such as golden delicious and red delicious. I always like using an assortment of apples like gala apples, golden delicious, and Granny Smith apples are my kids’ favorites.
  • Animal Crackers
  • Pound Cake Chunks
  • Brownie Bites
  • Graham Crackers
  • Cookies – Oreo cookies like regular Oreos, peanut butter Oreos, or chocolate Oreo cookies. Milano cookies, shortbread cookies, Nutter Butters, or Nilla wafers are all great choices.

Notes

You can use any peanut butter you love (or have in your pantry) in this recipe. I have used all different kinds and it’s been delicious each time. Our favorite would have to be the honey roasted peanut butter by Peter Pan brand.
If you want less sugar/less sweet then try using a container of plain greek yogurt instead of vanilla. If using plain yogurt, you may want to add some vanilla extract.

I tried making the cream cheese version with the brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla. I added cinnamon even, which made it taste better. It was just too sweet. My kids wanted a healthier apple dip. So, I tried this one! Absolutely loved it!! Simply perfect and even tasted better.

Very quick and delicious. I only had regular plain yogurt and it was still wonderful!
