Oreo Pudding Pie Recipe (No Bake Dessert)

This Oreo pudding pie is an easy dessert recipe that is loaded with Oreo cookies! Like, we’re talking Oreo cookies to the extreme – Oreo cookie crust, Oreo pudding filling, and chunks of Oreo cookies.

I love that it uses simple, ready-to-use ingredients such as a store-bought Oreo crust and instant pudding mixes.

I love no bake pies because they always need lots of fridge time before serving, so they’re the perfect dessert to make the day before.

If you love Oreo cookies then this pie is a must-try! You’re going to love this one and it’s guaranteed to be a family or crowd favorite.

How To Make Oreo Pudding Pie With Instant Oreo Pudding (Printable Recipe Card)

In a mixing bowl, add the instant Oreo pudding mix and half and half. Stir with a whisk until it’s combined and starts to thicken. Let the pudding sit for 2 minutes so it can continue thickening.

Stir in the chopped Oreo cookies.

Spread 1.5 cups of the Oreo pudding mixture into the bottom of the Oreo crust and spread it out evenly to form an even layer.

In a separate bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Start on low speed to avoid splashing and increase the speed as needed.

Add half of the whipped cream into the remaining Oreo pudding mixture and stir until combined. Spread this into the pie crust on top of the pudding layer.

For the remaining whipped cream, you can either spread it on top of the pie as a third layer OR put it inside an airtight contain and refrigerate until ready to serve. Before serving, pipe the whipped cream on top of the pie (as seen in the pictures).

Cover the pie with the enclosed lid (from the Oreo crust) and refrigerate for at least 6-8 hours, overnight is preferred.

Serve the pie chilled. Enjoy! If wanted, garnish the pie with additional chopped Oreos or mini Oreo cookies. If you reserved the whipped cream in the fridge, pipe that along the outside edge of the pie right before serving OR dollop the whipped cream on top of each slice before serving.

How To Store Oreo Pudding Pie

The pie should always be kept in the fridge, covered, for up to 3-4 days. Serve the pie chilled. I don’t recommend freezing this pie because of all the dairy and pudding; once frozen and then thawed, the texture will be quite different and not in a good way.

You can store the pie inside the pie crust with the enclosed lid, or remove individual slices to an airtight container for storage.

Recipe FAQ’s

Can I Use A Different Milk?

You want to use a high fat percentage of milk when making no bake pies with instant pudding mix. The higher fat content will help the pudding layers thicken and set properly, as well as provide a richer and creamier taste and texture. I have made this pie dozens of times and I much prefer the half and half. With that said, you could try using whole milk or possibly 2% milk and see what you think.

Can I Make My Own Oreo Crust?

Yes! I love using a ready-to-use crust when making no bake pies because it makes everything so much easier. But feel free to make your own 9-inch Oreo cookie crust. You can try this Homemade Oreo Crust recipe.

Should I Use Double-Stuf Oreos or Regular Oreos?

You can use whichever you prefer! You can also get creative and use a different Oreo cookie variety such as chocolate, peanut butter, mint, thins, etc. I like to use mini Oreos for the garish because they are such a cute size.

Can I Make This The Day Before?

Because this pie needs at least 6-8 hours refrigeration time it’s the perfect thing to make the day before. I actually prefer refrigerating it overnight. So yes, make it the day before for best results.

  1. Can I use almond milk in place of whole milk?

    1. Together As Family says:

I think you could. It might affect the flavor a bit because of the almond flavor. But I can’t imagine it would ruin the pie.

    2. was it good with the almond milk?

  2. So I’m confused. The directions for the pudding mix calls for 2 cups of milk *per box* yet this recipe only calls for 2 cups total. Which is it? Thank you for posting this.

    1. Together As Family says:

Completely disregard the directions on the pudding box. Just follow the recipe that is posted on my site that calls for only 2 cups total 🙂 Enjoy!

  3. Can you put it in the freezer to make it set faster?

    1. Together As Family says:

You could try it. I have never done it that way.

  4. Hi! Wha if I only have 1 package of the Oreo mix? Should I use 1 cup of milk? Any, suggestions?

    Thank you!

    1. Together As Family says:

Yes, if you are only using 1 box of Oreo pudding then you will have to use half the amount of milk called for (1 cup). The pie won’t be as thick but it will work fine.
