BLT Dip is a crowd pleaser dip recipe with a cream cheese base, seasonings, and all the classics of a BLT sandwich – bacon, lettuce, and tomato!
Creamy BLT Dip
BLT dip is everyone’s favorite sandwich, a BLT Sandwich, in dip form with a creamy ranch dip base and topped with all the favorite of the classic sandwich – crisp lettuce, crispy bacon, and diced tomatoes.
The perfect party dip, gathering dip, or make it for game day and serve with an assortment of favorite dippers.
Ingredients Needed
- Cream Cheese : For the best taste and thick, creamy texture I recommend only using full-fat cream cheese. I also recommend using the name brand as well, Philadelphia brand, as it does taste the best than any other.
- Mayonnaise : You can use full-fat mayonnaise or try the lite version if wanted.
- Sour Cream : Full fat sour cream or lite sour cream will work, but for the best taste I would recommend using full-fat as it will help the dip be thicker, creamier, and taste better.
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Salt : I use kosher salt or sea salt.
- Black Pepper
- Shredded Iceberg Lettuce : You can also use shredded or finely chopped romaine lettuce if needed.
- Diced Tomatoes : Chop up Roma tomatoes or use grape or cherry tomatoes that have been halved or quartered.
- Chopped Crispy Bacon : You can use real bacon (bacon slices) that has been cooked until crispy (use your preferred cooking method; stove top, oven, or air fryer). Use real bacon bits, or use microwave bacon and cook until crispy and then chop it up.
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Sliced Green Onions
How To Make Easy BLT Dip Recipe (Printable Recipe Card)
In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Use an electric hand mixer to beat until combined well and creamy.
Add in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Beat until thoroughly combined with the sour cream mixture.
Add the shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, crispy crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and green onions into the mixing bowl. Use a wooden spoon or rubber spatula to gently mix everything together until well dispersed.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, or a lid, and refrigerate for 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together and the dip to chill.
Transfer the BLT dip to a serving dish and place it onto a serving platter. Surround the bowl of dip with a variety of dippers; tortilla chips, baguette slices, potato chips, pita chips (soft pita or crunchy chips), fresh vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, cucumbers), crackers, or pretzels.
How To Store Leftover BLT Dip
Store any remaining dip inside the fridge, in a covered airtight container, for up to 3-4 days. The lettuce will soften significantly after 24 hours, so I think this dip is best served the day it’s made, after the short fridge time it needs to chill before serving.
Can I Make Any Substitutions?
- Bacon : Feel free to use turkey bacon instead. You can use sliced bacon that is cooked your preferred way (skillet pan, air fryer, or oven). You can also use real bacon bits. Or try using microwave bacon (the Costco Kirkland Signature brand is amazing).
- Mayo : You can use full-fat mayonnaise, reduced-fat, avocado oil mayo, or another mayo that you prefer. You could also substitute it with plain Greek yogurt, although keep in mind that Greek yogurt will change the flavor profile of the dip.
- Cream Cheese : For best results use full-fat cream cheese but you could try using reduced-fat. Plain greek yogurt can also be used, but I would not use Greek yogurt to replace all of the cream cheese. Do like 4 ounces cream cheese + 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt if you’re wanting to make a healthier swap.
Recipe Tips
- Don’t forget to set the cream cheese out at room temperature, at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours, before making the dip. This ensures that the cream cheese is softened which will help it more easily blend in with the other ingredients without lumps.
- Reserve some, or add extra, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and crispy chopped bacon to the top of the dip for serving.
- The shredded lettuce will soften slightly during the short time before serving it, I have never found this to be a problem, but if you want the lettuce nice and crisp for serving – I would recommend you not add the shredded lettuce inside the dip, but rather garnish the top of the dip with it instead. Although, it will make it harder to eat and scoop up the dip with that crisp lettuce on top.
- Serve this dip with an assortment of dipping options – such as pretzel thins, fresh vegetable sticks (baby carrots, bell peppers, cucumber slices), baguette slices (toasted or untoasted), Club crackers, Ritz crackers, pita bread, tortilla chips, other favorite chips, etc.
