Best Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps with Homemade Caesar Dressing

These caesar chicken wraps are one of my favorite easy lunches, or no oven simple dinners to make when I have a rotisserie chicken to use up. My favorite salad is a Chicken Caesar salad and these wraps take all those classic ingredients and get wrapped up in large flour tortillas.

A soft flour tortilla is filled with tender chicken, crisp romaine lettuce, juicy tomatoes, crunchy croutons, a homemade creamy caesar dressing, and of course – freshly grated parmesan cheese.

Ready in just 15 minutes – they make a quick lunch, easy dinner with no oven needed, or make it for meal prep.

Ingredients Needed

Creamy Caesar Dressing Ingredients

  1. Mayonnaise : I highly recommend only using full-fat mayo for the best flavor and creamy thick texture. I love the Duke’s brand mayonnaise.
  2. Olive Oil : I use extra-virgin ‘light tasting’ olive oil, but you can use the one you prefer. Regular olive oil tends to have a really heavy, thick olive taste it so I always use the light tasting evoo.
  3. Freshly Shredded Parmesan Cheese : Shred the parmesan cheese from a wedge of parmesan cheese. Any parmesan cheese can be used; but the freshly grated stuff is always the best for this recipe.
  4. Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
  5. Dijon Mustard
  6. Worcestershire Sauce : Traditionally, homemade Caesar salad dressings call for anchovy paste – but that is not an easily accessible or cheap ingredient for most of us. The Worcestershire sauce gives that same umami flavor! It’s the secret to an easy homemade Caesar salad dressing.
  7. Garlic Clove

Caesar Salad Wraps Ingredients

  1. Chopped or Shredded Chicken : I love using a rotisserie chicken for this recipe because the chicken is convenient, cooked, tender, and already seasoned well.
  2. Romaine Lettuce : Buy a bag of romaine lettuce or chop up some romaine lettuce heads into small pieces.
  3. Caesar Croutons
  4. Freshly Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  5. Roma Tomatoes : Seeded and diced small
  6. Large Burrito-Sized Flour Tortillas : This recipe makes enough for 6 wraps

How To Store Leftovers & Make Ahead Instructions

If you want to make these wraps ahead of time I suggest making the caesar dressing and covering the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap, and keeping it in the refrigerator, for up to 48 hours before serving. I recommend mixing the wrap ingredients (like the lettuce, croutons, etc) until right before serving.

If you know you will have leftovers, do not add the lettuce to the chicken mixture in the large bowl, and instead add the lettuce onto the wraps and then place the creamy chicken mixture on top of the lettuce. This way, the lettuce won’t get soggy when stored in the fridge with the chicken mixture.

To make the wraps for meal prep, I recommend preparing the dressing and preparing the chicken mixture (leave out the lettuce), and then make the wraps without the lettuce. You can either add the lettuce right before eating a wrap or just leave off the lettuce all together.

Pro Tips From The Test Kitchen

  • If you want to skip the homemade caesar dressing use a store-bought dressing instead. Olive Garden has a good Caesar dressing or try one of the refrigerated dressings for the best flavor. I highly recommend making the simple homemade dressing – it’s worth it and the ingredients are easy & simple.
  • Use any croutons you love! Chop them up into smaller, finer pieces or leave them in larger chopped pieces; whichever you prefer.
  • Instead of shredded chicken you can use crispy chicken strips or frozen crispy chicken tenders, that have been cooked in the air fryer or oven, and chopped not bite-sized pieces or left whole.
  • To fold the wrap ‘burrito-style’ you’ll first want to fold in the sides of the tortilla, and then roll it up like a burrito, and cut it in half to form a wrap for serving. Another options for serving is to skip putting the romaine lettuce inside the chicken mixture, and instead serve the creamy caesar chicken mixture inside green leaf lettuce or a butter lettuce wrap.
  • Instead of taking out the seeds and dicing Roma tomatoes, you can use cherry tomatoes or grape tomatoes that have been cut in half instead.
  • Optional add-ins include crispy bacon bits or avocado slices.
  • I prefer the dressing chilled so I make the dressing up to 24 hours ahead of time and let it refrigerate, covered in an airtight container, until I am ready to make the wraps.
  • I highly recommend grabbing a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store for this recipe – the chicken is already seasoned, ready-to-use, and so tender.
