So easy to make with only 5 ingredients. Anyone can makes these yummy candy bar loaded cookies.
I love adding candy bars to classic desserts like these Candy Bar Brownies (serve it as a sundae with ice cream and chocolate syrup) or these Cookies & Cream Oreo Brownies.
Why We Love These Cookies!
- Easy to make – anyone can make them!
- The classic combination of chocolate + peanuts + caramel goes perfectly with the cookie base.
- Get the kids involved! They will love unwrapping the Snickers candy bars and chopping them up.
Ingredients Needed
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix – This is the dry cookie mix that comes in a pouch-like bag. You will find it in the baking aisle next to the cake mixes and brownie mixes.
- Canola Oil – Any neutral flavored oil will work great. Vegetable oil or avocado oil are other great options.
- Milk – Just 1 tablespoon. Use what you have in the fridge. I normally use whole milk or 1% milk.
- Large Egg
- Chopped Snickers
How To Make Cookie Mix Snickers Cookies (Step-by-Step Process Directions)
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees f. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the chocolate chip cookie mix, oil, milk, and egg. Stir until combined and a soft dough forms. At first it might seem quite dry but as you keep mixing, it will come together. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl and even use your clean hands to really ensure it’s mixed in well. If it still seems too dry, add 1 teaspoon of additional milk as needed.
- Stir in the chopped Snickers.
- Use a medium cookie scoop, 1.5 tablespoons dough, to scoop out the cookies and place 12 per cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
- Remove them from the oven and allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the warm cookie sheet before removing them to a cooling rack.
Can I Make Any Changes or Variations To This Recipe?
There are several ways to change up this recipe if you’d like to do so. For example, you can use a different type of cookie mix such as sugar cookie mix or a snickerdoodle cookie mix. Another option is to use a peanut butter cookie mix to enhance the peanut flavor from the Snickers. An oatmeal chocolate chip cookie mix will also work for more texture.
You can also make these easy cookies with any candy bar – Twix, Milky Ways, M&M’s, 3 Musketeers, etc. Or use some of each one!
How To Store Snickers Cookies
Store these cookies in an airtight container, at room temperature, for up to 5 days. I think they’re best eaten within a couple days but they will last for up to 5 days if needed. You can also freeze these cookies. Bake them according to the recipe and let them cool to room temperature. Wrap each cookie in plastic wrap and then in tin foil (helps prevent any freezer burn) and freeze for up to 3 months. When ready to eat, simply remove desired amount of cookies and allow them to come to room temperature before eating.
Recipe Tips
- For even cookies that look the same and cook in the same time, use a cookie scoop. I use this OXO Medium Cookie Scoop for these cookies. It holds 1.5 tablespoons of cookie dough which is what the recipe calls for.
- For pretty looking bakery-style cookies, gently press additional chopped snickers on top of the cookies when they come out of the oven. This will also help flatten them slightly if they did not flatten while baking.
- I always recommend using parchment paper sheets when baking cookies. Not only do they help the cookies bake more evenly, it also prevents the bottoms of the cookies from browning at all. I use Pre-Cut Cookie Sheet Parchment Paper.
