A dump cake recipe is something that everyone should know how to make! Whether it’s because you’re short on time or need something quickly, or maybe you just want a sweet treat that doesn’t involve using several bowls, whatever the reason a dump cake is the perfect dessert to make.

This blueberry dump cake is not like a traditional cake that get’s cut into even slices. It’s more of a crisp or cobbler type dessert that gets scooped up and then topped with ice cream or whipped cream.

You’ll love the juicy blueberry flavor in this dessert. One pan, 3 ingredients, and you literally dump the ingredients in & go. That’s it!

FAQ’s + Tips For Success

  • How Do I Serve Blueberry Dump Cake? : Because this is a sweet & rich dessert, we think it’s best served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or try serving it with whipped cream. Use a wooden spoon to scoop some dump cake out (don’t worry about cutting even slices) and place it into the serving plate or bowl.
  • Cake Mix : The recipe calls for a yellow cake mix but you can use any variety you prefer. I have successfully made this dump cake using a vanilla cake mix and a golden butter cake mix.
  • How To Store Leftovers of Dump Cake : Store the leftovers inside the fridge, cover the pan with a lid or plastic wrap, for up to 5 days. You can eat it chilled from the fridge or warm up a serving of it in the microwave before enjoying.
  • Should I Use Salted Butter or Unsalted Butter? : Either one can be used, it just depends on what you prefer or dietary needs. I prefer using salted butter for this recipe and for all my baking. I think it provides much better flavor and things just taste better when I use salted butter.
