Easy Snickers Brownies Recipe (With A Brownie Mix)

If you want a decadent dessert, that also happens to be super easy with only 6 ingredients, then these Snickers brownies are your new best friend! Satisfy that sweet tooth in a hurry with fudgey brownies for a sweet treat for any occasion.

It starts with a chocolate brownie mix with layers of chocolate gooey brownies, crunchy peanuts and a nougat layer (hello Snickers bars!), and it’s finished off with another layer of brownie and then a caramel layer with caramel bits.

Only 6 Ingredients Needed

  1. Brownie Mix : Use your preferred box of brownie mix for a batch of these snickers brownies. Make sure you are using an 18 ounce box. Do not follow the box instructions! This snickers brownie recipe is a ‘doctored-up’ brownie mix recipe so we’ll be adding out own stuff and ignoring the box directions.
  2. Large Eggs
  3. Salted Butter : The butter needs to be melted for this recipe. You can use unsalted butter or salted, whichever you prefer baking with. I use salted butter for all my baking recipes.
  4. Milk : I normally use 2% or whole milk when baking.
  5. Chopped Snickers Bars : You can use any size of snickers candy bar, just chop it up and measure out the 2 cups called for in the recipe.
  6. Caramel Bits : These can be found in the baking aisle next to the chocolate chips. Use extra if you want to add a melted caramel drizzle over top the baked brownies.

How To Make Fudgy Snickers Brownies With Caramel (Printable Full Recipe Card)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or spray well with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

In a large bowl, add the brownie mix, eggs, melted butter, and milk. Use an electric mixer to beat on medium speed until it’s smooth, thick, and well combined.

Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out evenly.

Sprinkle the chopped Snickers over top the brownie batter layer.

Scoop the remaining brownie batter over top the snickers and even out the top of the brownies.

Sprinkle the caramel bits on top.

Bake for 40-43 minutes or until cooked through. A toothpick poked into the muddle will come back with moist crumbs or gooey (because of the caramel and Snickers bars), but it should not come back with wet, raw chocolate brownie batter on it.

Allow the brownies to cool in the warm pan for at least 20-30 minutes before cutting into squares. These are delicious eaten warm or at room temperature once they’re completely cooled.

How To Store Leftovers

To store the brownies, let them cool completely, and cut them into squares. Place the brownies in an airtight container, separating each layer with parchment paper or foil to keep them from sticking together.

You can store the brownies at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Eat them chilled, at room temperature, or warm up a brownie in the microwave.

To freeze snickers brownies, wrap each brownie square in plastic wrap and then place the wrapped brownies inside a freezer-safe Ziploc bag or container. Freeze for up to 3 months. To thaw, simple let the brownies come to room temperature on the counter, or heat them in the microwave.

What Are Some Variations Of This Recipe?

  • Candy Bars : Use your favorite candy bar instead of Snickers; Kit Kat, 3 Musketeers, and Milky Way candy bars are all great choices. You may want to switch up the caramel bits (if not using a candy bar with caramel in it) to something else like chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or just additional candy bar chunks instead.
  • Snickers : There are lots of varieties of the Snickers bar, so use your favorite one! I have used the peanut butter snickers before and then used peanut butter chips instead of caramel bits, and melted some peanut butter for the optional glaze over top the brownies.
  • Brownie Mix : Use your favorite boxed brownie mix here! Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, chocolate fudge, etc. Make sure it’s the 18 ounce size that the recipe calls for.
  • Optional Glaze Over Top/Caramel Bits : If you are using Kit Kat candy bars I would suggest using milk chocolate chips or white chocolate chips instead of the caramel bits, you can also melt additional white and milk chocolate chips for the glaze. If I use peanut butter snickers bars I will still use the caramel bits (or peanut butter chips) and then melt some peanut butter for a peanut butter glaze over top the brownies. You can also just use additional chopped candy bars instead of the caramel bits if wanted. Or use a caramel sauce to drizzle over top the brownies instead of melted caramel bits.

*Optional Step : Melt an additional 1/2 cup caramel bits and drizzle over top the brownies.

Notes

Butter : Unsalted butter can be used if that’s what you prefer baking with.
Milk : I use whole milk when a baking recipe calls for milk. Any milk can be used, but I would recommend sticking with a milk that has some fat in it (2% or whole milk).
Tip : For the second brownie layer on top of the Snickers pieces, drop spoonfuls of the dough over top, this way it will be easier to spread it out in an even layer to cover the Snickers chunks.
