OREO CREAM PIE
I have been making this no bake Oreo cream pie for as long as I can remember. My kids request it for their birthday cakes, and it’s my tried & true dessert that seems to make it’s way to every get together and picnic.Â
Plus it’s no bake so it is easy to make. It is actually the first recipe that my daughter requested I teach her how to make!
An Oreo cookie crust filled with an Oreo cream filling, and topped with freshly whipped cream and chopped Oreo cookies for garnish. This is a must-make for all the Oreo lovers out there (me!).
INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE OREO CREAM PIE
Oreo Cookie Crust – Make it easy on yourself and buy the store bought one. I actually prefer the store bought crumb and cookie crusts because they hold together so much better, and when you cut into them they don’t crumble all over.
Heavy Whipping Cream
Cream Cheese – The full fat cream cheese is the best to use for flavor and texture. You can get away with using the reduced-fat cream cheese but the taste won’t be as good.Â
Granulated Sugar – I get a lot of comments about people being worried that the sugar won’t dissolve and therefore make the cream cheese part grainy. I promise you that it does not turn out grainy. Just make sure you soften the cream cheese well so the sugar can get mixed in well.Â
Vanilla Extract
Chopped Oreo Cookies – Use a knife to cut these up or my favorite way is to put them in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag and then chop them up with a meat mallet, rolling pin, or something else heavy. I also do extra to sprinkle on top before serving.Â
TIPS FOR MAKING THIS OREO PIE
– The fresh whipped cream is best for this pie. It tastes so much better. But if you need to, go ahead and substitute an 8 oz carton of Cool Whip instead.Â
– As mentioned before, I prefer the store bought Oreo crust because it holds together so well but you can make your own if you want. Here is a recipe for a homemade Oreo pie crust.Â
– This pie is much better if it has had time to sit in the fridge for at least 8 hours. I always make it the night before I need it. Leftovers are good for a few days but the Oreo cookies will soften up as it sits in the fridge.Â

No Bake Oreo Cream Pie
Ingredients
- 1 ready-to-use Oreo cookie crust
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 bar (8 oz) cream cheese softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups chopped Oreo cookies or a little extra is fine!
- additional whipped cream and chopped Oreos for garnish optional
Instructions
- In medium mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy {to avoid lumps make sure cream cheese is really soft or place in microwave for 20 seconds}. Add in vanilla extract and granulated sugar. Beat until combined and creamy.
- In separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. This will take several minutes.
- Using a rubber spatula, add the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture and gently mix together. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and combine.
- Dump into the pie crust and smooth the top. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours before serving. I prefer to refrigerate overnight.Â
- Before serving, garnish with additional whipped cream and crushed Oreos if wanted.

Did You Make This Recipe?
I'd love to see it! You can share it with me on @togetherasfamilyblog and follow on Pinterest @together-as-family-blog-recipes or Facebook @togetherasfamilyblog for more!
Do you have any suggestions on how to make this into a cholcolate oreeo pie?
The only suggestion I would have is to melt some chocolate chips in the microwave and add it to the cream cheese/sugar mixture and mix well. I have never done it that way but I don’t see why it would not work. You would have to experiment with how much chocolate to add. I would start with melting 1/2-1 cup chocolate chips.
it looks good but im a kid making it for my mom do have to use the stove to cook it??????
Hi. I am going to try your pie. For photographing it, add some color, such as s fork or a colored napkin or placenta. Hope that helps.
Enjoy. Thanks for the tip 🙂 This is one of my older posts and I am slowly trying to make my way through to update all the old pictures.
Placenta? What in the world
This got rave reviews from kids, hubby and company. Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough to get a taste, but that’s alright! I had a very happy bunch of people. Next time, I’ll make more of this pie!
Awesome! Yes, definitely make it again so you can try it 🙂 I always have to hurry and get a piece of this pie too because my kids eat it pretty fast. Thanks for commenting to let me know. Happy New Year!!
Simple and delicious! Adding cream cheese to the whipped cream is so good! I used 2 cups of Oreos for the filling as well, and added the dollops and half-Oreos which really added to the presentation. A couple notes: I made a crust with 25 oreos (ground pretty fine in a blender – filling included) and 5 Tbsp of melted butter pressed into a 9″ pie pan, and baked at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Throw it in the freezer until it’s completely cooled then add the filling. It was a little crunchy and stuck together just as well as the store-bought crust I used to compare. As for refrigerating – to keep it from getting soft, I put the whole thing in the freezer and removed it just early enough to let it soften for eating. Keeping it in the freezer reduced the time required for setting and kept the moisture content to a minimum.
Thank yo for your feedback!! I always use lots of extra Oreos too ? I’ll have to try your cream cheese trick next time. So happy to hear this was a hit.
Whipped cream or heavy whipping cream?
Hi Ruby! The recipe says heavy whipping cream that you then whip to make whipped cream 🙂 If wanted, you can use a tub of Cool Whip instead of using the heavy whipping cream.
You had me at Oreo. I made this today and the whole family loved it. I will definitely make this again. Thanks for the quick and easy recipe.
Yay! Anything involving Oreos and I am an instant fan too. So happy to hear your family loved this pie. It’s my family’s favorite too.
Made this for Thanksgiving! But the tastes off the spoon were so good, we couldn’t wait for Thursday. It is amazing! Everyone loved it! Thank you for sharing this.
You’re my kind of people ?. I’m actually making it today for thanksgiving tomorrow and with all these kids in my house I’m not sure that it will last either. Happy Thanksgiving!
Soo good my friends keep asking me to make it again!
Very good recipe! Tastes just like what you get from Baker’s Square. Only thing is that it takes more than the 10 minutes it says it should take. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of if you’re on a time crunch.
Do you think if I make it in a 9×13 pan that doubling it would work, then tripling it for a 11×15 pan too? This reminds me of the Oreo pie from Bakers Square, a restaurant in Minnesota where I live and I love it!
Yes for sure double for a 9×13 pan and I think tripling would work just fine for the 11×15. What a great idea to cook in those pans. I’d never thought of that but it makes sense and will serve more people.
Since this has cream cheese and whipped cream in it, will I need to store it in the fridge? I planned to make this in individual shot glasses for a dessert buffet. Will they be safe at room temp for a couple of hours in an air conditioned event space?
The pie is best cold, yes. It will probably do fine at room temperature for that long but it will soften as it sits at room temperature. Maybe put the shots on an ice bed?
I love this recipe. It is my favorite.
Thank you SOOOO much for this. I don’t cook at all — as in, I bring store-bought for every potluck. But my kids requested oreo pie for Thanksgiving this year (they don’t like pumpkin) and so I googled an “easy” recipe, found yours, and decided to give this a try. My son and I made it together, after reading the directions twice and while watching the video, and it came out wonderfully! It was gone immediately as everyone else has said, AND it has increased my confidence that I could do it again. I bringing it to a holiday potluck this weekend! Thank you, thank you!
P.S. My only suggestion, if someone at my skill level could dare to do so, is to wait to do the whip cream dollops until right before serving because if it sits out for any length of time, it will melt (maybe everyone else already knows this, but I didn’t). We had to reapply, which was easy enough. For my potluck, I’m going to try freezing it for a bit after I put on the whip cream and cookie garnishes, so they won’t melt too quickly. Otherwise, easy-peasy for EVERYONE!
I love this! Thanks for trying this recipe and coming back to let me know how it went. I always bring this pie to any gathering or potluck. It’s my go-to as well 🙂
Question – should the sugar be granulated or powdered?
Recipe calls for granulated sugar. Enjoy!
This recipe is sooo good! I’m gluten intolerant, so I made mine with a store-bought gluten free cookie crust and K-toos fake Oreos. I also don’t care for whipped cream on top, so I just sprinkled the rest of the package of crushed cookies on top. I ate the final piece today and am already eyeing another trip to the store to pick up more ingredients. Thanks for the recipe!!
I love this recipe! I have made it dozens of time for my family
This recipe is so easy to make and so good. I love that I can use the Oreo crust I bought in the food store. I put it in the freezer and let sit out for about 15 minutes. A wonderful treat especially for summer.
I love that it looks like your recipe is not too sweet. I will try it this week for Thanksgiving! Thank you!
it looks good but im a kid making it for my mom do have to use the stove to cook it??????
This is a no bake recipe so no stove or cooking is needed. Just two mixing bowls and a hand mixer or a stand mixer like a KitchenAid is all you need (if you have one). I hope your mom loves it.
I made this for thanksgiving. Everyone raves about it. I’m going to have to make this again and again! Thank you!!
Thank you for your comment! I love hearing when recipes work out and are loved!
Very good stuff!!
Thank you! 😊
