S’mores Pizza Recipe
We love any variation of s’mores at my house and this S’mores Pizza is probably one of our favorite ways to enjoy the classic treat. A homemade graham cracker cookie dough crust, topped with a layer of melted milk chocolate, toasted golden marshmallows, and garnished with more chocolate squares and graham cracker pieces.Â
It’s a fun way to serve s’mores, still just as messy, but who doesn’t love dessert pizzas?! Mess and all it’s worth it.
Let’s learn how to make this delicious cookie pizza with all my helpful tips and information below.Â
Ingredients You’ll Need
- All-Purpose Flour – I use unbleached flour.
- Graham Cracker Crumbs – You can crush your own crumbs from whole graham cracker sheets or buy a box of graham cracker crumbs from the store.Â
- Baking Soda
- Salt – I use sea salt or kosher salt
- Unsalted Butter – If using salted butter then reduce the salt to 1/4 teaspoon.Â
- Light Brown Sugar
- Granulated Sugar
- Large Eggs
- Vanilla Extract
- Milk Chocolate Chips – For an authentic s’mores buy the bag of Hershey’s milk chocolate chips.Â
- Mini Marshmallows
- Hershey Chocolate Bars – These will need to be broken up into the squares for topping the pizza with.Â
- Whole Graham Cracker – Broken up for garnish for the pizza. You could also just add some crushed graham cracker crumbs or omit this entirely. No need to go buy a box of graham crackers for 1 sheet.Â
Step-by-Step Directions For Making S’mores Cookie Pizza
Follow these simple, step-by-step directions for how to make this s’mores cookie pizza recipe.Â
– Step 1 : Spray a 16″ round pizza pan with cooking spray. Set aside.Â
– Step 2 : Whisk the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl with a wire whisk; flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking soda, and salt.Â
– Step 3 : Cream together the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until the mixture has lightened in color. About 3 minutes of constant beating. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, until they are incorporated. Mix in the vanilla extract.Â
– Step 4 : Mix in the dry ingredients, on low speed, just until no flour streaks remain in the dough.Â
– Step 5 : Light wet your hands and press the dough into the pizza pan. Make sure to leave 1-inch around the edge clear of dough. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 1 hour.Â
– Step 6 : Bake the pizza for 22-25 minutes or until golden brown.Â
– Step 7 : Sprinkle the chooclate chips over top and place it back into the oven for 1 minute. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the crust leaving about 1/2-inch around the edge. Sprinkle the mini marshmallows over top the melted chocolate and broil it on low for a few minutes until the marshmallows are golden brown.Â
– Step 8 : Top the pizza with the additional chocolate chunks and broken graham cracker pieces.Â
– Step 9 : Cut into slices and serve!
How To Store Leftovers
This s’mores pizza can be stored at room temperature, covered, for up to 4 days. You can also keep it in the fridge for up to 7 days but it will be firmer and more difficult to eat. Allow it to soften to room temperature for a few minutes before eating.Â
FAQ’s For This S’mores Pizza Recipe
-
Can I Use Hershey’s Chocolate Bars for the Chocolate Layer Instead of Milk Chocolate Chips?
- Yes! This is something that I actually do a lot with this s’mores pizza. Instead of milk chocolate chip for the chocolate layer, break apart 4 Hershey’s bars and place them all around the cookie dough crust to cover it.Â
-
Can I Use Marshmallow Fluff?
- Yes, you can substitute marshmallow fluff for the mini marshmallows. However, I will warn that the fluff does expand and puff while baking so it might end up covering the chooclate layer. The pizza may look different is all I am saying. If using fluff, drop spoonfuls of it all around the pizza on top of the chocolate layer.Â
- I do recommend sticking with the mini marshmallows in this recipe.Â
Expert Tips
Here are some of my tips that will hopefully help you successfully recreate this recipe in your own kitchen ♥
- Use The Correct Size Pizza Pan : If you use anything smaller than a 16″ pizza pan then the dough will spill over the edges. If you don’t have a pan that size then try splitting up the dough between two smaller pizza pans. I have linked to the pizza pan that I own and use for this recipe in the recipe card below.Â
- Don’t Skip The Fridge : I personally hate recipes that call for refrigeration time before you bake it. Like who wants to wait, right?! In this recipe the fridge time is super important to allow the dough time to chill and firm back up a bit before baking, so it doesn’t thin out too quickly in the oven and spill over.Â
- Leave An Edge When Making The Crust : It’s important to leave a 1-inch edge around the pizza pan when pressing the cookie dough into it. As the crust bakes it will expand and need that extra room.Â
- Pizza Cutter : Use a pizza cutter to cut the s’mores pizza into slices. So much easier than a knife!
