Peppermint Bark Pretzel Bites are a yearly tradition for my family. So easy to make with only 4 ingredients – snap pretzel squares, Hershey’s candy cane kisses, red and white peppermint m&m’s, and Christmas sprinkles.

For another easy Christmas treat, that even the kids can help make, try these Christmas Rolo Pretzels. Just as easy to make but with a chocolate caramel Rolo candy and Christmas m&m’s on top.

White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Pretzel Bites Recipe

These addicting & delicious little peppermint bark pretzel bites are the best holiday treat! Once I see those Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses at the store, I always buy several bags, because I know my family will want to make these pretzel treats more than once.

The best part is that even the kids can basically make the entire recipe themselves. I have many memories throughout the years of my kids’ little hands unwrapping all the kisses and trying to place them so perfectly onto the pretzel square ❤️

Only 4 Simple Ingredients Needed

  1. Snaps Square Pretzels : The square shape is the best and easiest ones to use for this recipe. They have more surface area so the when the kiss melts, it doesn’t ooze outside of the pretzel, but rather stays on top of the pretzel. They are labeled as snaps on the bag but they are just square shaped pretzels.
  2. Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses : I always just make enough pretzel bites to use up the entire bag of kisses – which is 63. So I lay out exactly 63 pretzels onto the baking sheet.
  3. White Chocolate Peppermint M&M’s : For some reason, I can’t find these every single year. Not sure if they sell out fast or maybe my stores near me don’t carry them. If you can’t find them then try other options such as picking out the red and green m&m’s from a classic bag, or using the mint chocolate m&m’s (I think they come in green and white colors).
  4. Christmas Sprinkles : Get creative and use anything you want here! Lots of variations of red and green Christmas sprinkle mixes. I prefer the non-pareils (the little ball sprinkles) when I make this recipe.

Sprinkle some of the Christmas sprinkles onto each pretzel bite, trying to mainly get it on the melted chocolate part so it will stick.

Let the pretzel bites sit at room temperature for up to 2 hours, or until set and hardened. Enjoy!

How To Store Pretzel Bites

These pretzel bites need to be stored in an airtight container or Ziploc bag, at room temperature, for up to 4-5 days.

These cute and festive peppermint pretzel bites make a really great edible gift for neighbors, friends, and family. Place some pretzel bites into a Christmas cellophane bag (or a festive tin) and tie it off with Christmas ribbon. For an even more festive package, line the bag or tin with tissue paper, and then place the pretzel bites in.

Make sure the pretzel bites are completely cooled, set, and hardened to room temperature before storing them as leftovers or gifting them in a bag or tin.

Pro Tips From The Test Kitchen

  • I have never had to bake these for longer than 4 minutes, however, if when you are pressing the m&m onto the candy cane kiss and you still feel some firmer chunks of the kiss that are not melted; you may need to place the pan back into the oven for 1 minute longer. Some people have said that their candy cane kisses are perfectly soft at 3 minutes, so you just have to keep an eye on them to find the right time for your oven. We are not cooking anything, the oven time is strictly for melting the candy cane kiss so you can easily press the m&m on top of it.
  • I can’t always find the white chocolate peppermint m&m’s every year; not sure if they sell out quickly or maybe my stored just don’t carry them. If you have the same problem here are some solutions. Pick out the red and green m&m’s from a bag of classic m&m’s. You could also use another variation of Christmas colored m&m’s such as peanut, mint chocolate (I think they come in green and white colors), or any other Christmas colored small candies you can find. Bonus points if it is a peppermint flavored one.
  • You can make as many or as little of these as you want! Just adjust the ingredients accordingly. One bag of the candy cane kisses has 63 kisses in it so just make sure that you also have enough pretzel squares and m&m’s. There is plenty of pretzel squares in the bag so you should be ok with those.
  • I highly recommend only using the square shaped pretzels. They are the perfect size and hold the melted chocolate the best. If needed, you can use regular pretzels, but I promise they turn out better with the square ones.

What do you use for the red stripes??

      1. Together As Family says:

Hey Linda, the red stripes are part of the Candy Cane Hershey Kisses. You just need one bag for this recipe and they are red/white striped Hershey Kisses with a candy cane flavor to them.

  5. Is it best to use a dark cookie sheet or a light non stick pan?

    1. Together As Family says:

Either will work fine. I use a cookie sheet.

I think so. I’ve never frozen these so I can’t say for sure.

Love this idea! Fixing to make them this weekend for Christmas goodies. My question is how long do they last after being prepared? I don’t want to make them to early and then they aren’t as enjoyable!

    1. Together As Family says:

I would say 1-2 days as long as they are covered. The chocolate tends to dry out and not be as soft the longer they are leftover.

4 minutes is way too long to cook these. I cooked for one minute and they were much better.

    Hi!
Can these be microwaved instead of putting in an oven?

    1. Together As Family says:

You could always try it. I’ve never made this recipe in the microwave so I can’t say for sure. Essentially you just want to melt the Hershey Kiss so just cook it long enough until it’s melted but not like runny.

    Super yummy and ridiculously easy!!
